Hello! My name is Amanda Neumeier-Kist and I am the ART Teacher here at Holy Spirit School.
I am so excited to be back in my own classroom after a period of time being away. I truly feel GOD calling me back to school & working with young students to help them discover the greatness inside them through the Arts.
I grew up in Holmen, a small town outside of La Crosse, WI. My family eventually moved to the Fox Valley Area where I graduated High School from Kimberly. I then attended & graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a Fine Arts Degree with Teacher certification in 2003. I had a wonderful experience teaching children K-6th with Milestones Programs for Children in Milwaukee, before I moved back to the Fox Valley. I taught at Resurrection Catholic Grade School (Now Father Alloeuz) for 3 school years teaching K-8th grade until we started our family in 2008. Since that time, I worked to support our family business aging cheddar cheese at Wisconsin Aging & Grading Cheese. In fact, I am a 3rd generation licensed cheese grader. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, camping, traveling with my family, cheering on my sons at their sporting events & spending time with our dog and 4 chickens.
My husband Brian & I have two boys, who have attended school here at Holy Spirit since 3k/4k. Since enrolling them I have enjoyed volunteering my time on Home & School, the Spirit of Christmas committee, the Mardi Gras committee & also working with students to provide one of a kind artworks per grade that get auctioned off at the Mardi Gras event. I love working with children in the Arts & helping them to discover new mediums, talents & helping them make connections in History through works of Art. The Curriculum we will cover year to year examines the Elements of Art & Principles of Design by tying in working Artists & Artworks. Additionally, I enjoy working collaboratively with other subject areas on Thematic Units to create additional meaningful projects.
