My name is Jillian Sylla and I am a learning specialist at Holy Spirit School! I earned my elementary education degree from UW-Madison in 2013 and accepted my first teaching job in Holmen, WI. I taught first grade for 3 years and spent the next 5 years at home raising my 3 children. After moving to Kimberly in 2018, our family joined Holy Spirit parish and I later began working at Holy Spirit School in 2022. I am currently pursuing a certificate and education master’s degree through Concordia University-Wisconsin.
I love being a teacher because it gives me the opportunity to inspire minds and hearts toward a life-long passion for learning. Captivating a class in story, encouraging creativity, exploring academic concepts through hands-on learning activities, building confidence and compassion, supporting students in articulating and showcasing their learning … That is the magic of teaching! Furthermore, teaching at a Catholic school offers the unique opportunity to share Jesus’ love with my students and to intertwine faith into my daily work- and that is a wonderful gift!
A little bit more about me… I love outdoor adventuring, going on road trips, camping, baking, listening to non-fiction books, and playing board/card games.
I look forward to a fabulous year ahead at Holy Spirit School!
