In 2007, I graduated from Lawrence University and Conservatory with a degree in Music Education. Since then I have been teaching general music (grades PreK-5), Knights Chorus (grades 6-8), and Religion (grade 7) at Holy Spirit. Teaching both music and religion has been incredibly rewarding for me since those are two of my greatest passions. I have found myself overlapping and intertwining both subjects constantly in my classroom and it is nothing short of a blessing that I am able to spend my day sharing my love of faith and music with children. I can not advocate enough for teaching at and/or attending a Catholic school, as what else could be more important in this world than building a deep relationship with God. As I often say in class - when you build a healthy relationship with God, you will automatically build healthy relationships with others.
Besides Jesus and music, I also love dance! As a trained champion Irish dancer, I have also studied Ballroom/Latin, Hip-hop, East Indian, and African styles and knowing these styles of dance allows me to enrich my music classroom in a unique way. You will often see dance and movement being incorporated into the classes I teach and the performances we have!
In my freetime I work backstage as a program manager for various music festivals and events; I love learning about the latest trends in audio and visual technology and I am always gathering ideas for our Holy Spirit concerts.
Lastly, I live in north Appleton with my husband, Steve. Our favorite pastimes are traveling around the world (we especially love to visit holy shrines) and playing board games.
